How can I properly care for my jewelry?
Silver: Over time, your silver pieces will tarnish. It is recommended to avoid wearing your pieces in the shower, at the beach, in the pool, and while working on projects that may require heavy lifting and put strain on your pieces. When your pieces have tarnished, I recommend a few options:
- Natural solutions: You can place your silver in a baking soda bath and something about aluminum foil need to explain this better.
- Purchase a silver cleaning solution to dip your pieces into. We recommend the Sambol brand. We use this product and have it for sale in-store, but you can also purchase similar products in your local grocery store usually.
- If the jewelry is from me, you are always welcome to come and have it cleaned for free
Oxidated Silver: With time, your oxidated silver pieces will brighten. As your pieces rub against your skin, the outermost edges of your pieces will lose some of their oxidation as this is just a surface treatment. You are always welcome to have your pieces re-oxidated
Gold: As with silver, I recommend to avoid wearing your pieces in the shower, pool, or at the beach and taking them off while at the gym or doing heavy lifting to protect them from the elements. With time, you may find that your gold has become a bit matte or have some scratches from every day wear and tear. If so, it is always an option to have your pieces polished to make them shiny and new again!
What materials do you use in your jewelry?
I use 925 sterling silver and 14k gold (585). I use a variety of stones in many of my pieces, including natural stones like turmaline, topaz, quartz and diamonds. Mostly I use moissanite and laboratory made diamonds. a
